My Day

Hey, hello!  As you can see from the pic (below) I am very excited to see you again after a challenging day.  I went to a workshop called BAR, which is like SCAMPER.  B stands for bigger, A stands for add, and R stands for replace.  So we BARed Enrich and any teacher.  So for teacher I made their patience bigger, added extra smiles, and replaced telling us off with giving us (the students) food!

Good day to you.  Hey, it wasn't so hard after all!  Bye bye (for now...)!

Hello Over There...

Hello, fellow blog readers.  What an breath-taking, puzzling day so far (only half of my day is done).

We started off with 'Brain Boosters,' which was our last session, which I spent with Jenni, doing P.4.C. (Philosophy For Children).  We talked about what has changed, and that was a very interesting topic.  We came over the idea of parenting (that changed because of the no hitting rule) and also schooling (which has changed since the 'no whipping rule'.

Next I went to Sumo Cubes, which was the puzzling part of my day covered up.

After morning tea, I went to Performance with Ginny.  We did some Christmas carols and most of my energy was drained so it was literally breath-taking.  We got some really awesome songs!!!

So there, that is my day broke down into bits.  Have a lovely afternoon!
  Bye!!

Welcome back to Term 4

Hello (again)!  How very nice to see you all today on the first week back (okay, it's actually the second week back, but the first post this term).

Anyway, Marie has just left and I'm sad to say, was the last clay pottery session of the year.  We have something else to fill the gap and I can't tell you, because I have no idea what it is!

Also, I have to set myself a goal.  So my goal for this term is....

Getting my important ideas out there, and learning to define the important from the information that isn't so urgent.

Anyway, us Monday kids get an advantage with our 'Discovering Your Past' by getting an extra session next week!

We can now start counting down from 14 days till the spring fling!

And I'm giving it to...

Rolling rolling, rolling rolling a cup.  In fact, it was a mug.  Yes yes, it is common to get these messed up.  And I was rolling a mug.  For passion time.  Can I get on with the blog now?  Also the designs Marie brought along with her were spectacular!!  The patterns showed halloween, sky-scrapers, beautiful flowers and guess what?  More and more patterns!  And  also, I promised a few things last week.  The order the table goes is:

Pearl and Briana, then Samantha and Luca and finally, Madison and I!!!!!!!

Hey, I thought that I was gonna talk about newspaper and what happened today.  Yes I am.

Today we just well, wrote.  Wrote and wrote and wrote.  Just about what I'm doing right now.  Except my news article will be in a newspaper!!!!  Nicola is going to publish it properly!!!

And for the other secret, I'm giving it to...  My teacher.  Not here, at my school I attend to 4/5 days.  My teacher.

Everything seems so cute!!

Had a good day?  I did.  Today well...  I under-glazed!!!  It was so exciting!  I had already drew pencil on my plates so I was ahead.  I had drew a duck and a pig and they look so cute!  I love the thick black outline makes it stand out.  I also have a replica of a smiley face orange that is also adorable!  I also have a gift for someone (I'll tell you next week).  I love everything about what I painted (or under-glazed your choice)!

Also I have to sort out a time-table for the pottery.  I'm going to sort it out in whatever order I like.  So see me next week (also about the present) and you will know the order.

Speaking of the time-table, I have to do it!  And know is the best time!

See 'ya 'lats (for see you later)!!!

Epic Day at Enrich. Please read on......

EPIC       HEY!!!!!

I've had the awesomest day yet of the week (and all the other records of the week; It's just the start of the week anyway).  So I think I've got one rebus correct out of the few on the whiteboard.  Do you want to see it?  Okay here it is:

There are two ducks in front of two ducks.
There are two ducks behind two ducks.
There are two duck in between two ducks.
How many ducks are there?

I think.....

Two ducks in front, two ducks behind would equal four ducks.  Then in between.....  That wouldn't make sense.  Maybe there's ten ducks or eight or six....  I think there's six.

That was only part of my day.  You should of seen brain boosters with Paul.  It was so cool.  I love tangrams.  We made all these animals and people out of:

Two small triangles
A mediam triangle
Two big triangles
A square
A paralaragram

All laminated.  You might also need a sheet to tell you what shapes you need.

I still think the answer is six.  I'll tell you later......

EPIC       BYE!!!!!

Discovery

Hi.....  Again.  Although I do have exciting news...  Our new topic is........  DISCOVERY!!!  Yeah.  Discovery.  And we HAVE NOT started passion project yet.  But yes, I am doing clay this year (again).  Last week, we didn't do a post.  We were too busy.  We have got some cool activities to go.  We are doing this very cool thing around discovery...  Immersion Discovery.  There are ten activities but you only have to do eight.  Four last week, four this week.  They are planted all around the classroom.  But that's still to come.
Today, we learned the difference between open questions and closed questions. Open questions require a bit of thought and usually a long answer. Closed questions have a simple one word answer.   we had to conduct an interview with a buddy and eventually develop a biography of them. I interviewed Violet and this was one of the ten questions I asked her:  If time didn't matter, what period of time would you be in?
I look forward to you seeing my post next week.

I'm back!!

Welcome back!!!!

I didn't get enough time for a post last week. I'm here now!  We have got a new teacher called Paul.  I can't wait to get my passion project up and running. Yes, thats right, I'm doing pottery again.  Today we did brain boosters.  I was doing wuzzles (word puzzles) with Nicola this time. We did it last week to.  It was super hard.  I got 3/12, and those were all the ones that Nicola gave clues for!  Next we did thinking keys.  I got to do it with Paul.  We got to do the invention key.  I can't wait to get my clay pots home!

Digital Citizenship

To-clay I did some pottery as always.  I made a gift to give my teacher for the end of the year.  I also made a cute love heart shaped bowl with an arrow in the heart lid.  I think I will use it for my earrings.

I also learnt about digital citizenship.  On simple terms, it's internet safety.  I was with Nicola's group.  I found out that your fingerprint starts even before you are born.  Also that it continues even when your dead.  Your fingerprint starts and ends way before and after your lifetime.  It is not safe to over-share, or anything else that will give you a bad reputation.
Bye!

Underglaze for my pots of clay!

Today I underglazed my pots.  Especially the rock.  Lots of people called it painting.  Even the ones doing clay!  In Term 3 people started realising that pottery was really cool.  So their getting Marie in to help next week.  A chance to get my pots kilned!!

Today I also did some more abstract art with Katie.  Today, we did masking tape art, which helps create a pattern of shapes and lines.  Here is a photo of me and my art:

The jug kettle

To-clay I was back on the potters wheel.  I made a jug kettle. The handle was like a kettles but it kind of collapsed.  So Darryn fixed it.  He put part of an coloured ice-cream stick under it to keep it from collapsing.  The jug part of it was because it didn't have a lid.  Well, jugs do have lids but my terrific ones don't.  I absolutely cannot wait till art.  For affective study I'm doing Alexander the Great.  I've got heaps of information.  I'm going to transfer the information to Pages... Somehow.  Here is the coin with his FACE!!!

A Cat

To-clay I made some more masterpieces.  A cat and a shark fin.  The cat was my favourite.  With Madison's bunny is in the competition, the bunny is an obvious winner.  I also made another rock and soon I'm going to see what one to underglaze.  Probably the second one.  Oh, and if you don't know, the inspiration I got for clay was from ancient Greece and Egypt.

Bye!  See you Term 4!!!

Clay Class.

Today it was very funny.  Oh, have I told you that Samantha joined clay a couple of weeks ago?  Well I taught Samantha to underglaze for her second week at clay.  This week Madison wanted to do clay.  So it was like a clay class.  Me just helping slightly with their work.  My work didn't come up pleasantly.  The clay had thousands of air bubbles.  If there are air bubbles in your clay work then in the kiln your work will, well, EXPLODE!!!  Just a whole pile of clay left.  Have you had a clay class?

DON'T glaze the bottom!

Hello.  Grace here!

I have just been to Katie's workshop - time.  Here is what I learnt:

  • A pico second is the shortest amount of time.
  • There are three types of time - past, present and future.
  • There are so many ways to measure time; water, the Sun and much, much more!

I also did potting.  Well, glazing.  Last week I finished under-glazing my pots.  This week, I'm full on glazing!  Here are the rules for glazing:
  • Two coats of glaze.
  • Leave three to four millimeters from the bottom.
  • DO NOT glaze the bottom!!!!!  (or else it will stick to the tray when you put it in the kiln).
Marie will be coming back to pick them up at the end of the day.  The pots will go in the kiln one last time, and then I will be able to take all my creations home, and have a lovely tea party.

Clay, Clay, Under Glaze

Today, well, I did only one thing, really.  It was glazing my pots!!
I did three last week but this week I did heaps!
Marie helped me with the first part.
Firstly you have to put white slip on-white clay mixed with water.
The style that I glazed my pots were:

  • Bee Landing on a flower
  • Sun Set Trees
  • Fishy Sea
  • Three flower pots
  • Rainbow

Well, that was some of my pots!
